A Decade

So what was expected, happened. Anwar is back in Parliament after 10 years. Yippee. Errmmm…whatever :) But what was amazing is the amount of confidence that the BN had when they took him on his own hometown of Permatang Pauh. Whatever said about him, it’s his town and when he first contested there, he defeated the incumbent from PAS in 1982. If BN thought that they’d win, then they’re a bunch of political novices!

Gerakan to discuss pulling out of Barisan in October

That’s the news in STAR today.

Comment:

This again is evidence of how strong BN was and now that it is not. Gerakan is considered the 4th largest party in BN although prior to losing Penang at the last elections, it goverend the Island. But it was swept away during the last GE in March 2008. Now there is talk about pulling away from BN altogether. Now what would it do to the political landscape in Malaysia. A lot actually if what Gerakan Perak is mooting is actually realized. I hope Gerakan leaders heed and pay special attention to former Premier Tun Mahathir’s writings in his blog here, here and here.

Dreaming in Beijing

And the Malaysian dream faltered once again. Ever since winning the Thomas Cup in 1992, we have not won a major badminton championship bar the All England Singles and Doubles. Disappointing to say the least but Chong Wei was never in the game. I had at least expected it to be tight but Lin Dan is in the best condition and he deservedly is the Olympic Gold medalist.

Fight Club

PKR must really learn how to control their supporters. Just a few weeks ago, their supporters were blamed and identified as responsible for the assault on a Guangming Daily photographer. Golden Boy

RM 300K in the bag, Chong Wei is now looking for that RM 1 million. But whatever the bags of money he receives, he deserves it! But I personally think that Chong Wei is playing for Malaysia. The money is a bonus. In the end, we want to hear the “Negaraku” played in Beijing and in an Olympics games for the first time in Olympics history!

Bring it, Chong Wei!

Who’s in your black book?

Blogs are normally about having an opinion. Obviously when one has an opinion, it’s quite difficult to have one that meets the approval of everyone. So in the end you have to pick one. You’d probably mix it up so as not to disappoint others. But invariably, you need to choose.Normally, bloggers also like to surround themselves with people that share the same opinion. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, that is quite normal behavior. So, who do you have in your blog roll?

“Bar”tendering issues

Where did you spend your Saturday morning? Here?

First, the question that begs an answer. Are Muslims so insecure that they can’t even agree to discuss issues related to its religion? I am a Muslim and my answer as a Muslim would be no. I have no issues whatsoever if what we will do is to discuss. Nothing wrong with that.

Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting

Dear Law Minister,

Unless the mainstream press have not reported, we have not heard anything from you. The US is questioning our very own legal process that under your leadership, you have took great pains to ensure that it is much more transparent and fair. Surely you must be upset by the US being so abrasive that they intend to monitor the legal proceedings in relation to the court case against former DPM, Anwar Ibrahim. Read it here.
