Is the end near

We were told that the recent UMNO Supreme Council meeting was hot. The PM was told that he should step down. I don’t think there has been anything like it. No sitting PM has ever been told to go. Perhaps the last was during Tunku’s reign. But the Tunku’s reign ended after the 13th May incident in 1969. Before that, he had been a successful PM. For Pak Lah, it was just not working from the word “go”.

Anwar’s 2nd PC – Part 2

The PC lasted around 40 minutes. Anwar is confident. No, not confident. Basically, he has the numbers. He has the 31 names (and more, he says) that will jump to PR. Its a matter of whether the current PM would like to “surrender” honorably.

Anwar

Seems that opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim is calling a PC. Two days after the so-called Sept 16 takeover. Today at 2 pm at PKR’s HQ. Will the list be made known? Will he spell out the ‘jumpers’? I hope this time, he comes good on his promise. Then can we move on with this matter.

Malaysia belongs to all

So says the newly elected Opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim. This is obviously a reference to Bukit Bendera’s UMNO Division Chief, Ahmad Ismail’s statement calling the Chinese in Malaysia as “pendatang” or immigrants. First of all, the statement of the UMNO Division Chief is factually wrong. That I have to say and the Prime Minister who is also UMNO’s President need to strongly rebuke that. I am not sure if the statement is racist in nature but it is surely insensitive especially when you’re soliciting for votes from Malaysians during the Permatang Pauh by election.

Walkover or walked all over

Here’s the problem. Should UMNO stand and fight Anwar in Permatang Pauh or should it walk away and give a walkover to Anwar? Reports indicate that Anwar will win handsomely. Its his hometown and he has been their MP since 1982 bar the 1999, 2004 and 2008 elections. In all 3 elections, his wife took on UMNO and won comfortably apart from 2004 when she just scrapped through. So, what will happen in the by-elections?

The bigger man

PAS and UMNO. Who shall be the bigger man or person? To throw away their believes, their political agenda for the other partner. Its a bit like marriage. You grow to like each other but there is that bit that does not go well with the other party. And before you decide to settle down, you want the other party to discard that annoying bit. He or she agrees and you’ve got a great script for a good marriage.
